| Survey & Forecasting Team offers basic information that enables the government to map out trade polices and the Korean trading community to formulate sensible business plans by analysing and forecasting import and export trends, carrying out research on international competitiveness, and developing statistical indices for export and import. In addition, the team conducts specialized research activities on economic cooperation plans with BRICs countries including China, which has emerged as the world's new economic power house, and trade-related issues.

| FTA Team's research focus lies in policy review and development concerning Korea's pursuit of free trade agreements by analyzing the effect of FTAs by industry based on the basic trade statistics. The team also aims to collect corporate opinions and brings FTAs to the attention of the public. In addition, the team conducts studies on non-tariff barriers of Japan in preparation for Korea-Japan FTA negotiations.
