The Institute for International Trade (IIT) was officially expanded from the Trade Research Institute on March 2, 2007. Originally established as the Trade Research Department of the Korea International Trade Association(KITA), IIT's role is to present future strategies and to provide in-depth research information on Korea's trade and economy.

IIT aims to promote Korea's foreign trade and focuses on developing trade policies and strategies, analyzing and forecasting import and export trends, providing information on foreign markets, formulating plans for Northeast Asian economic cooperation, and developing FTA strategies.

IIT primarily focuses on the development of new macro-strategies on trade promotion for this knowledge-based economic age as well as practical trade strategies for Korea's rise to the logistics and business center of Northeast Asia. IIT endeavors to provide trade-related information and to envision a blueprint of future trade to the benefit of KITA members.

IIT is composed of three departments: Trade Policy Department, Survey & Forecasting Department, and WTO & FTA Department. The researchers at IIT will continue to provide reports on various researches along with a variety of trade information and data through this website.

I hope this website serves to enrich your understanding of the present state of trade in Korea and the world, and I look forward to your advice and support.
