Profile of KITA

Korea International Trade Association (KITA) is Korea’s largest and most influential economic organization. Founded in 1946, KITA is now the leading trade promotion agency, representing more than 65,000 Korean companies involved in international trade. Our key activities include providing a variety of direct services such as business meetings and trade consultation. KITA is often called upon to make policy recommendations to the Korean Government as well as to international bodies on a wide range of trade-related matters.

The KITA Singapore Representative Office was set up in Feb 2006 to promote trades between Korea and Singapore. One of our key roles is to spearhead market development of ASEAN countries in the interest of our member companies.

The KITA Singapore Representative Office supports KITA Headquarters’ activities through providing diverse channels for Southeast Asia companies to partner with our Korean companies, in terms of trade and investment.

Our key services are as follows:

   1. Market Research and Development

  • To study the trade and economic trends of Southeast Asia countries, thus exploring the growth sectors in potential markets
  • To identify potential Korean products that can be exported to ASEAN markets, thus enhancing the international competitiveness status of Korean products
   2. Trade Promotion
  • To promote trade activities, through business meetings, conferences and exhibitions, between Korea and Southeast Asia countries
  • To facilitate the execution of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Korea and Southeast Asia countries
   3. Business Networking
  • To establish business networks for the business communities between Korea and Southeast Asia countries, thus supporting trade expansion and partnership

    4. Member Services

  • To provide assistance to KITA Headquarters’ member companies through trade consultation and advisory services, thus identifying potential partners for business ventures
